Favorite Running Music - The Maniacs Choice Compilation

Postby q » Fri Apr 28, 2006 2:02 pm

Ok... every little while we get someone who says.. what music do you listen to when running? etc etc etc...

Then there are a hundred replies and conversations about the songs... Links to other threads... And tons of post to weed your way through.

Well, we're not having any of that here in this thread. Just music 24/7, no talk....

Please post your favorite running songs here and we will have one grand list.... Or if you provide info on a song on the list.

As I add your songs to the list your post will be removed. So I can keep track of what is added to the list and what is not.

Please try to use this format

Name of Song - Artist

I think most people will enjoy having an organized playlist that they can look through for their own use.

Thanks so much everyone.

I didn't realize that this compilation wouldn't have the maniac's name that suggested the songs... it makes it a bit cumbersome to have just a running list, doesn't it?

no, cuz it gives us ideas... looking through the list allows me to see songs that I might not have thought of, and also songs that other maniacs consider good running songs. :)

I liked the original thread which was about a specific list of songs for a marathon run, broken down in different section of the course. I understand this subject comes up every couple of weeks but so does every other subject that covers running in general. Things change, styles change, music changes, etc..... But this thread is good too, I like having a static list that can be modified as we go. I am in the process of making a marathon CD as we speak so this is good timing.

You can always refer back to those other threads, there are plenty of them.

This is for people, like myself who will down load all the A's and B's tonight. Listen to them, keep the ones they like, discard the ones they don't. Without going through all the conversation.

For those running the mountain stages of the CTRR, Hallelujah sung by KD Lang. I was singing it to myself last weekend on one of those endless climbs of my ride - it helps!

They're my "floating along" songs... I don't need the beat for running, but just love to listen to good music.

I am loving "Crazy" by Gnarles Barkley... it's bordering on being overplayed on the radio but for the next few weeks anyway I'm sure I'll have it on my lists!

Hi there, pretty new to walking but I find I need music to help keep me on pace. I like slower pace for warm-up and warm-down but need some pretty upbeat music for the actual walk. Not sure what beat/min I am looking for. Are there any lists with music incl. the beats/min?
