I haven't heard of this one! Will have to check it out. Isn't that an odd mix of artists? lol

You would think so, but it is is a great song!
I thought it would be silly, but no. Aaron finds some great music. Sometimes I am like  but once I listen to the songs... I am like 8)

I used to run. All the time.
Now? Notsomuch.
I'm still a runner, though.

Running Music

Postby girlygrl » Fri Jul 07, 2006 12:39 pm

I love all these lists people are leaving of their favourite running music; when I was 38k into my first marathon (Vancouver '03) and thought my legs were going to fall off, I ran/limped past someone whose stereo was blasting "Jump" from Van Halen; this song gave me the burst of energy I needed for a good finish and I'll never forget it!

Here are some other tunes I have on my Ipod:

White Stripe: Seven Nation Army
Black Box: Strike it Up
C & C Music Factory: Gonna Make You Sweat
Chamillionaire: Riding Dirty
Natalie Furtado: Promiscuous Girl
Van Halen: Dance the Night Away

Hope you can use some of these! 8)
Vancouver Marathon '03
Vegas '05
New York '06

EDIT : Favourite run song is

Underworld - Dirty Epic

Avenue - paul van dyk
for an angel - paul van dyk
nightmare - brainbug
7 days and 1 week - bbe
dreaming - bt
godspeed - bt
fibonacci's sequence - bt
children - robert miles
orange theme - cyprus
space manouvres - stage one
music sounds better with you - stardust
halcyon & on & on - orbital
bigmouth - underworld

most of benni benassi's stuff

lately I've been listening to Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise" cd's. I'm a big fan of the 5th that came out lately, and the 4th is great as well. I love to run to Sasha's "Involver" cd. (the first track, his remix of Grand National's "Talk Amongst Yourselves", is :D  )

so that would be

Invlover - Sasha (1st song is the bomb)
In Search of Sunrise 4 - Tiesto
In Search of Sunrise 5 - Tiesto (I like cd 1 the best, but 2 is great as well)

also:

Tegen And Sarah (they're a little slower though...)
The Arcade Fire

and The Killers are good to run to sometimes.

I find that celtic punk has a good running beat:

Drunken Lullabies - Flogging Molly
Devil's Dance Floor - Flogging Molly
Rebels of the Sacred Heart - Flogging Molly
Drunken Lazy **** - The Mahones

other:

Numb/Encore - Jay Z and Linkin Park
Welcome to Jamrock - Damian Marley
88 - Sum 41
Blister in the Sun - The Violent Femmes
Smells like teen spirit - Nirvana

Cheers!

Sexy Back- Justin Timberlake. It has a great beat, plus I can picture him in the video as I run. :)

Um, back to the music...I love:

Dark Blue - Jack's Mannequin
Holiday - Green Day
Call Me When You're Sober - Evanescence
and...

well, anything Evanescence.

FYI people - the new CD drops October 3, and I for one intend to immediately upload it on my mp3 player, then torture myself for the next 5 days until the OIM, then premiere it for my FIRST half marathon.

(I'll be the one occasionly bursting out in song cuz sometimes, ya just can't help it  )
"I know I can stop the pain if I will it all away" - Evanescence

Next up: Mother's Day 10K
Peach City Half - May 20/07

Fun Run 10K, Vernon BC June '06
Summerfast 10K, Vancouver BC July '06
OIM Half, Kelowna BC Oct '06

Agreed! This was the first song I downloaded from iTunes when I got my Nano.

Another great one is "Ain't No Other Man" by Christina Aguillera.

There's tons of music that I would never otherwise listen to, but for running they're great.

Ok, I reall haven't added my 2 cents worth here yet. But here is a tune that just makes me want to.

This cover and it brings back a flood of memories. Anyhow, It makes me dance whenever, where ever I hear it. I've loaded up on the Ipod, but I honestly haven't run to it. YET!

Gnarles Barkley - Gone Daddy Gone
