Yes. My frickin' foot still hurts.

I hope to get my new orthotics Tuesday. Then I will start from square 1 again.

I hope to recover enough to do the 15 K at ATB!

Hmmm - well like the saying goes - misery loves company.

I hope your orthotics help Trixee !!

I've just spent the last hour surfing the net looking for non-impact cardio exercises - besides water running which isn't an option for me there's not much out there if you can't bend your knee :?

Can you swim? If you can, use a pull buoy and that eliminates the legs.

It hurts if I walk alot or after a hard run. It is not normal. I can still walk on it. Not sure if it is actually the foot, the ankle or the calf..... weird **** is going on :(

I'm really sorry to hear that Trixiee. I was hoping you'd be ok with the scale back from the 0-30 plan.

Do you have some muscle/soft tissue damage in addition to the healing stress-fracture?

Yes. And I re-injured it about 10 days ago. (Doing something really stupid :x ) I think I need to book a massage. Last week was out of the question, as I was on the road every day. This week. Tomorrow. For sure!

Cheryl, I'm sorry to hear about your knee. What's up?

I can swim - just don't have access to a pool on a constant basis.

Trixie what is wrong with your foot. Why do you need NEW orthotics? Did you have some before and what is the condition of your feet to need orthotics? On both?

Asking cuz i may need some too.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi LN,

I had a stress fracture. It was mostly healed, and I decided to do some jumping jacks, and re-injured it... now it hurts in another area of the foot -top and side, near ankle, sort -of :?

I've worn orthotics for 6 years now... just went to a different physiotherapist, and was due for new ones. He thought my old ones were not flexible enough through the arch area... we'll see, I guess.

Why do you need orthotics? And how are you healing up?

Healing up good. I had some Achilles issues that made my foot sore and my heel. I for the longest time thought I had plantar fasciitis but apparently not so. Now foot is good and sometimes a bit sore but not at the same place anymore.

Orthotics maybe not sure. Last doc told me my hips where not same height and they might help.
Issue I get is IT band gets sore over 20k. Still not sure if they would do anything or if it is just a case of tight muscles that can be worked on by stretching a lot.

Wishing you all the best Trixie!

I have this problem as well and it is causing me major issues with my left leg. IT band, muscle problems, etc. I am going be working with a chiropractor (along with getting orthotics) to get this fixed.

The chiropractor figures that it will take at least 8 weeks to get me fixed up.

Hijacking your thread here Pat.

I went to the Doc today and she told me my recovery is going really well.

I have no pain where the PF usually is. I can now stand on my heels and walk (which I hadn't been able to do for the past 15 months... ).

It's a slow process, it is normal for my foot to be sore and feel 'weird' as I changed my way of walking to not feel too much pain when the PF was there. Since the pain is not constant and it comes after a long day of walking or an intense run in the snow. She suggests RICE and not pushing it. Which is what I am going to do.

Overall a positive meeting. I am still on the waiting list for the MRI but she thinks nothing will come out of it.

Leather up girl. You run all those tough runs in the wind and cold, there must be a farmers pond that you can bust some ice up in to swim a few laps is there not?

Maybe cardio is not in the cards for now. My daughter has some exercises she does with rubber bands for volleyball and she says she gets some great workouts with them.

Maybe a few weeks of strength/yoga/pilates type exercise would be a better fit.

Cheryl, what about skating? I know you still need to bend your knees, but maybe not so much on the sore one?

Hmm never thought of skating - I'll keep that in mind for a little later down the road. :D :D :D

Right now I can't pivot on the knee at all - it's like it's always clicking out of place or giving way on me - hopefully the DR will have more answers for me tomorrow.
