Hi Guys. 5 year layoff may have worked.

Hi Maniacs! Ages since I was on here. Really bad ITB problems progressed from 07 to 08 then early 09 I severely tore my groin in the gym in a way they call a 'career ending injury' in soccer.

I tried a few times but always had really bad pain after a couple of weeks, but last year I got up to 8 miles on the treadmill in the winter, no issues. Stopped to move, get remarried and change jobs. Been running since the new year and I am optimistic that this will be the year that I get back to business. :D

Well, hello Stranger. Welcome back. Five years is a long break, but it's good to hear you didn't lose the urge to get back at it. Congratulations.

Thanks for the warm welcome back!

Well, I haven't been having any problems other than needing a calendar to time my runs. I tried some fast mile repeats last week and I guess they helped because today I blasted through a 5k in 25 minutes. Saturday I may try a 10 miler. That would be my longest run since 2008 (if I can do it).
