The long road...

Postby jacob42.2 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 8:24 pm

It's been months of, I'll start tomorrow, and next week. But it never came, but the weight certainly did. So, two weeks ago, I said enough is enough, and started a diet, and running again. Again. The weight is flying off, but I suspect it will slow down in a few weeks, but the running is getting stronger. In the past, I constantly compared my running to my best, and would easily be discouraged. I realize now, and finally only now, that I needed to start from zero again. I've scrapped all my PR's and pride, and started to just run for fitness. With an ultimate goal of a half marathon in May. So with that said. Hey everyone! I'm Jacob, and it's nice to meet you....again.

Many of us can certainly relate to your story (except for the part where the weight is flying off in my case!  )

Welcome back Jacob! I have to admit, I never thought I would see you post in the Scenic Route!

I owe you a beer someday. If it weren't for your race report, I would probably never have joined RM, met Ray or be getting married next year! :D

Welcome back, Jacob!!! I think you should have to run with a pylon on your head for the first while, just to get your head back into it. Look at it this way...you have the capability to come back and be even faster over time. However, some of us are doomed to just keep getting slower.
What are you doing these days?

Hey Jacob, welcome back :D Good luck on the comeback, I think most of us have been there at some point - see my quote below.
