Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum, led here by the Globe&Mail. I'm excited to find people I can talk running with (and find inspiration to get out there some days).
I just returned to Edmonton from Ottawa, and I took up running in 2009 because walking home during the bus strike was sooooo passé. And boring.
Two 10k and two half-marathons later, I'm STILL trying to find that little spark that craves the run... actually, I found it, but it's just as lazy as I am. However, I like the shape running gives me, and meeting some fun people (usually at the Running Room), and the quiet time for myself that a run gives me.
Now, if it would stop raining in Edmonton every day, that'd be great!

welcome here!
I was living in edmonton when I took up running, and it is a good city for it... hit the river valley and you can run all day without running out of space. :)

Overcome the notion that you must be regular. It robs you of your chance to be extraordinary.

I'm also local. Welcome to the board and to Edmonton.
The river valley is a nice area to run in, as suggested above.
