I woke up at the crack arse of dawn to see if there was an update on the BB and went back to bed. I missed finish line update by only a couple minutes!

Congratulations Bytchy Carla & Dave! You sure are an inspiring bytch!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday. You guys deserve it!

Hi everyone!!!

First off - THANK YOU for tracking us. I knew everytime I crossed a timing mat (which was hard to know when since they don't use the same kind of beepy mats as they do at home), it was my way of saying things were ok!

Pretty good day out there today - couldn't have asked for a better weather day!

short recap:
Swim was good - salty! but good swim.
bike - felt good, a flat course is a bytch though - you don't get to coast! wind picked up in the second/third loops, but could have been a lot worse.
run -as per marathons with me, my feet took a toll and I dealt with some major blisters on the bottom of my feet - I was losing focus on the third lap and walked a lot, and then on the 4th lap, realized it hurt less to run than walk. Went to the medical tent when I finished and they popped them (and commented that they were the worst they've seen all day - yay for me).

Thanks again everyone - and yes, Dave had a good day, Amelia came in third female and we're back home and ready to crawl into bed.

xoxo.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Thanks for checking in Carla!

Just a question about Dave's time. I am an absolute neophyte when it comes to ironman - but I'm wondering how close his time gets him to qualifying for Kona?

I was so glad I didn't miss seeing Carla's finish!

Dave was 41/194 in his AG. To have a reasonable chance of a Kona [rolldown] slot, he would have to finish in the top 10, top 15 at the absolute outside. 10th in his AG finished 9h30 and 15th was 9h45. At most IM's in his AG a result at or below 10hrs is what gets [a chance of] a Kona slot. I'm glad I age up next season!

Thanks for the explanation Mark!

Nevertheless, Dave must me SOOOOO much happier with this result than IMC. Awesome all around - Carla, Dave, and Amelia!

We're going to try this new thing called jogging. Or maybe it's yogging-with a silent "j". Apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild.

way to go guys. Very very impressive. I'm envious of getting a chance to make that race. I might have to put that one on my list sometime.
