What a finish in the men's road race... smartest rider won, great strategy and patience!

Always interesting how personal rivalries/friendships and trade team affiliation affects the outcome of world's. Same with world cup football...

IMO Valverde is getting a bad rap - when Rodriguez was way off the front, Valverde didn't chase him down at all, made Nibali do all the work and sat on his wheel. Ultimately if Rodriguez is faster than Nibali at that point he pulls away and wins. He was so far ahead that cyclingnews live updates started to declare him the winner!

And Rodriguez is heading to the win.
Rodriguez gets caught, then turns around and starts yelling at Valverde - whuhhh? So after that I'm not surprised Valverde didn't kill himself to help him, too ungrateful! I'd have let my teammate take it too (assuming I didn't have the legs to take it myself of course!)
