Sanders' Fall Colours Half

Postby Sanders » Mon Oct 09, 2006 7:49 am

I haven't been very good about reading race reports lately, but I just read Hermes' in order to avoid repetition.

It was really a great day! Maniacs rocked Cumberland. At least 5 podium finishes: TurtleLuc-Gold, HCiD-Silver, Nick-Bronze, Bebette-Bronze, Hermes-Bronze. The weather was perfect.

At the start of the race, Doonst asked me what I was hoping to do. I told him that I wanted to finish in 1:42:30. I came in at 1:42:24, a PB and the right pace as part of my preparation for Philadelphia.

Joe captured this image of me chugging along in the last kilometre:

I really liked the half marathon course; uphill on the way out, downhill back again; not too many cars. It was great to pay a brief visit to Ottawa - lunch in the Glebe, walk by the canal, coffee on Bank St. and a happy chance meeting with Bebette.

Next report in six weeks! Happy Thanksgiving!
Next Up in 2010:
April - 21K de Montreal

Great time! I'm jealous!

Nice to see you again! Last time I saw you, you came at me during the Toronto Waterfront half, totally freaked me out! Didn't recognize you until you were like 3 feet away!
