You've gotta be really happy about that for a first marathon! :D Your graph gives you a pretty obvious representation of what you have to do... (of course, how to do it is the tricky part. )

Looks like your program served you well.

What are you talking about?? It was definitely a successful race--you did the distance, pushed through the pain, and in spite of difficulty you came very close to your "A" time--which is pretty awesome for a first marathon. Complete success.

Congrats, Marathoner. :)

I agree 100%! Congrats on your first marathon!

They usually say that you should add 10-15 minutes to your expected time for a first marathon so you did that quite well. That's a great time for a first marathon especially considering the limited running that FIRST has you doing.

Thats a great result on your first marathon and not far at all away from your goal. That is really something to be proud of. I will be looking forward to your progress. Also, congrats on getting through the FIRST program. I just did the same and I know it is very tough, both physically and mentally.

Wow! Super time, casual-runner. Love all your stats...they should help you with your next one!
Lightning :)

We're going to try this new thing called jogging. Or maybe it's yogging-with a silent "j". Apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild.

That's definitely a decent time for a first marathon. You are gauging your lack of success by the time goal of your marathon; this is easy to do because the FIRST program seems to promote itself as a time-goal prescription program. It really shouldn't; I think this is a misleading implication of the program.

You can be proud of your accomplishments with your training and this race. You were very disciplined in your training and ran a good race. Congratulations.

Casual-runner... may I suggest a name-change? There's nothing casual about a marathon, eh? It's hardcore, as is the 'experience' it inflicts. Good luck figuring out your next game plan! :D (Those foot curl beasties sound like foot cramps to me; may have something to do with arch fatigue? I've had that - as well as painful tingly toes. )

Pain aside, you did extremely well!! CONGRATULATIONS on a well-planned, well-executed marathon, man!

Casual-runner,

3:40 !!! That's an excellent time for a first marathon. I'm sure that many runners would be thrilled to post such a time!

Your hard and highly organized training has certainly paid off.

Well done!!

Congrats on your first marathon!! 3:40 is nothing to sneeze at! I'm sure your next marathon will be much faster.
Sorry we didn't meet at the race. I saw you at the end of the out-and-back stretch (km 28) from a distance.
