Totally agree with your vent on marshalls and proper distances. I had 2 short-courses in a row once, and it drives you nuts, given you are paying to race.
I think you are closer to 20 than you think...you've got an outstanding start (4 min/km). Just a matter of time before you carry that through to the finish.
Nice racin' QC!!

22 min is a solid time on that course. whoever told you it was "flat" and "fast" was on bad drugs. the first 1k is flat but once you run down and under lakeshore it the steep uphill and i think from there it's net flat but slight up/down/up/down/up to the finish type of thing.

i've also found it hot the last 2 years I ran it. but never had problems with the course. guess i'm familiar with the route. plus if i know i'm running it in 19 min something's wrong :D

now you have a baseline you have to come back next year to better your time!

anyway, so what happened to the official results? did the race director find out about the people who ran the shorter distance?

umm, that mighta been me! I guess they are both relative...when the elevation profile is +/-10m that's pretty flat. You need something to keep things interesting, no?

Congrats, Lisa. Awesome races this spring. You're inspiring me to have fun (and run fast) with racing this summer.
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

One fine day
This blackbird's mute gonna sing again
One fine day

So all you sinners come out
And all you drunkards crawl out
Come into the light of one fine day
