2012 Burlington Moon in June 5k

Postby 5km » Sun Jun 03, 2012 2:57 pm

I was a bit anxious going in to this race. I wanted to get a good time and I had increased my monthly running mileage this past winter and spring, but had not been doing much speed work.

Race adrenalin carried me along to a fast first K. My times slipped through the middle phase which was gradually uphill with more turns, including a short switch-back to make up for a new starting point for the race. I managed to hold things together and was able pick it up a bit through the last two K’s. My gun time was 23:32 and my chip time was 23:27. A few seconds slower than last year but still good enough for a SM65-69 AG win.

Thanks for reading.
