It was an honour to run with you on your first Marathon Terri.

For everyone else, its hard to convey how tough and determined Terri was. It was such a strange weekend with such emotional highs and lows, it took a very tough person (much tougher than me) to stick with a plan like that.

Every other race is going to seem routine and dull in comparison from now on, unless you can convince some of your other friends to carry peanut butter sandwiches in their pockets for you.

Wow, Terri! I'm impressed! Being away last week, I missed what actually happened. I knew you ran, but not that you ran the full distance and were supported by friends! That's truly awesome, and your splits are fantastic! I also didn't realize this was your first marathon! I think I would have given up and whined and sooked when it was cancelled, and went home with a bad memory. I'm glad to read that you made it your own, and I love that you beat your goal time and got to choose a downhill finish!

Congrats Terri!

I admire your commitment to running the marathon (even though all your weekend roomies chose to partake in bad food and boozy beverages) - It's a good thing you talked my ear off during our lap, as you were running me into the ground (thanks to the bad food/boozy beverage combo!)

Your dedication to the training was top notch and your result proved that! well done and congratulations again!

Well done!!!

what a great report Terri! I didn't know it was your first marathon. I am always amazed at those IM that have never done an alone marathon! I am not sure I would have had the guts to do 26.2 in NYC when the race was cancelled! Good work! When's the next one? ;-)

I thought I replied to this thread. :?:

Regardless!

I just want you to know how proud I am of you for making this marathon your own. You ran an official marathon, in my eyes. You had a great group to help you get that run done, but in the end it is YOU who made it happen. You are wonderful! :ymhug: Congratulations!!!
