I missed a lot of action today. I am not surprised that Jack is scared of Mark
Ironboy wrote:Crap. If your coming I'm too chicken.

Mark if you are brave enough you should throw the shallonge at David (dgrant) and not frighten the weak players :D, although be careful if you planning anything important after those trail races, injuries are just a natural part of those events.

LOL!!!!

Just don't run any trail races before ITT - it is easy to break legs in some of those - I want you fresh and ready on August 21.

I'm going to run the Rattlesnake race. Let me come up with some appropriate trash talk after I do a search of the results of the main contenders. Rookies must be careful.
Also, I heard Lisa talking about running a daycare for the day. That will be perfect for those who (a) have to bring their kids, or(b) get beaten so badly that they need to be comforted like a baby.
And for the correct pronunciation of "Shallonge" see this clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uLapzxU ... re=related

not quite! it was the paris half in 2006 (then continued at ATB in 2007!)

the 'original' RM shallonge was coined after the cosby show "shallonge" clip.

UltraQueenga, on November 8, 2006, wrote:In that case, I'm throwing down my Nike running glove at your feet, Lightning! I challenge you to 2:00! Let's see if what you're made of! Are you Lightning or just flash in the pan?

Paris Grand Half marathon 2006 Lightning vs Ultraqueenga is the first reference I can find.

As mentioned on Mark's log...Hula Girl does not officially endorse trail shallonges for triathletes. But accepts the fact that boys seem to enjoy pissing contests

Is a Shallonge determined by quickest result - or is it by post-race MVP vote of participants, where going off-course, fallng down repeatedly or getting arrested might be as big a hit with voters as a quick time?

Just curious.
I am fortunate to have Running Free as a sponsor. I like to keep silly stats and maps of my Daily Neighbourhood Tours, Races and Marathons run in a Silly Yellow Shirt.
