Which one? You're not heading to Alaska are you?
When I win Cash For Life, absolutely!!
For the time being, I'm thinking of the
Beast of Burden 100 in Lockport NY in late February. Closer to home, less expensive for us.
Last weekend after ITT, the viking and I hosed off, jumped into our car and drove down to pace our friend who was doing the 24hr event at the Summer Beast of Burden. I ended up running 40k + 11k between 7:30PM on Saturday and 11:25 on Sunday morning, with a 4 hr snooze in the car. The viking did crewing and ran 20k in absolutely soggy weather.
Now we're thinking we want to do the whole 100 in the dead of winter, with snow squalls and -25 or in slush and freezing rain, as the weather may be...
We're
seriously thinking about it and trying to come up with an estimate for the gear we need and the mental games that might help on a 40k loop of flat towpath.
