I remember people posting links to blogs and sites that have ultrarunning and trail running info, but I figured I'd start this thread and maybe the admins could make this a sticky. We need a thread where we can post links to ultra/trail running sites and keep it somewhere accessible.

I had heard that he got charged with some white collar crime or something, but never bothered to follow it. I remember him from Badwater a few years ago and his Running Sahara project. Anyway, the guy is now embarking on a most interesting and tough 20-month long adventure...

I've been meaning to post this. I came across Charlie Engle's blog last week when I was reading his race report from 2010 Beast of Burden 100. I had heard that he got charged with some white collar crime or something, but never bothered to follow it. I remember him from Badwater a few years ago and his Running Sahara project. Anyway, the guy is now embarking on a most interesting and tough 20-month long adventure...

Wow that is some bizarre. I remember meeting him at the Niagara Ultra in 2008, where he did the marathon. dgrant got quite an impression of him:

Another little highlight was meeting Chuck Engle at the Niagara event. (For those who may not know, Chuck Engle is the guy who won 35 marathons in 2006/2007. That's not a typo, he won 35 marathons.) I introduced myself to him after his second place marathon finish (he clearly slowed to let the winner take the cake, telling me afterward he just doesn't see the honour in outkicking somebody in the final seconds of a tiny marathon). Pretty neat stuff for me, especially since hours later he remembered my name.
