It seems that the search indexing is really slowing down the site. :) It takes a 30 seconds or so for a post or pm to go through, rather than almost instant. ;)

yes, well, if you guys want the search to be fixed, you'll have to live with a slower site for awhile (it'll be another 10+ hours).

approaching post id 700,000 (this means fewer than 700,000 posts are indexed, since many will have been deleted over the years).

It's going a lot more slowly in the daytime than it was overnight, due to the server load (not just us, but any other active sites on the same server).
