April will be around 250-300K, with the final build-up to Vancouver in the first 2 weeks, before taking a 3-4 week taper, including a B race at R4R 1/2 Marathon and an easy effort in the Smith Falls 1/2, the following week ...

I would like to build upon my March numbers. However Apil is not the month to try too much, (kind of busy at work  )so 15 runs and consistent kms would be fine.

What with the Boston taper and post race recovery, I think I will do about 240 kms in April.

I am going to try to get in as much quality training in advance of Montreal near the end of the month while getting a bit of taper in there.
I do't really know where that will land me in mileage but I'll try at least equal March.
I also want to get on the bike to and from work.
Chilly 1/2 - March 4
Montreal 1/2 - April 29
NCM 1/2 - May 27
Manitoba 1/2 - June 17
Army 1/2 - Sept

My schedule says 280, but it might be a bit higher with an increased distance on Tempo Tuesdays for a few weeks.

And I'm planning to start biking to work one day a week - holy gas prices batman!!

April is taper month so it shows ~260 km. The middle of the month is the Vancouver Sun Run 10k which I could really do without in this month but being my first ever race that I've done, I'm compelled to do it. I got signed up under my old job while I was still working there so whether or not they release my bib to me remains to be seen. So there is the possibility I won't end up not doing it. If I do get it, it would require some juggling of my long run which I will push forward cutting into taper but shouldn't be a problem. I'll be training through the 10k regardless.

This is what my plan for March was - fail - so it's the basis of my plan for April.

Run: 320km
Bike: 750km

My main goal for April is to take it easy on my presently-tweaky IT band and avoid it turning into a major issue. For the next few weeks, I may experiment with going back to using time rather than distance in planning my runs, so I'm going to avoid naming a specific km target.

If all goes well, I'd be thrilled to set a PR at the Yonge Street 10k on the 22nd, but I'll settle for having fun.
PR's so far: 5K 27:15, 10K 55:25, 21.1K 2:10:53, 42.2K 5:21:27
Upcoming: Toronto Women's 5k in May, STWM Half in October

I want to build on March, so I'm going to say 125km running, 12 hours cycling, and (this will be the hard one) 5 hours swimming.

Other than the 33K I logged today on the first day of the month, I suspect my mileage will be low due to tapering for London on April 22 (and won't be doing much running after that). Maybe 100-125K? Who knows. I do hope to get on my bike and into the pool once I get home from London.

Here it is April 19 and I have run 4x this month. My race on April 7 was a disaster, and I was so disappointed that I didn't want to train anymore. I have worked a lot  and have been operating on much less sleep this month so I am always tired, so that doesn't help. However I am very disillusioned with running at the moment.
I guess I won't reach my goal.

Me too: 4 runs, disastrous race two weeks ago, disillusioned, etc. Hang in there, May is always a good month for running, especially in each of our professions.

Only a couple more days, then I will try again. Will have to start from the beginning though. My focus will be on running for health and enjoyment. Training will take a back seat.

I didn't post any goals, but my goal was to keep practicing my swimming, while increasing my running.

My swim time was the same as in March (about 4400m), but my running increased to a whopping 52 miles (83.7km). Believe it or not, that's my biggest month so far this year. My goal for May is 100km running and more swimming. I was looking at my log and I only swam 5 times in the whole month... I need to do more if I want to improve. My goal for May is 2x per week, or 8-10 sessions for the month.

Quite surprisingly, had a solid month of training, with 24x Runs and 325K logged, while tapering and training through 2x Half Marathons this month .... 8)

Rough month for me, pulled a groin muscle on the 10th and have ran less than 30k since then.

My marathon goal has changed to 'upright', probably around 4:30.

April started with injury and got derailed by a bad cold in the middle, but managed 85km, and did get that PR at the 10k! IT band is feeling better, too, so I'll chalk this month up as a winner.
