Finally hauled my lazy bones out the door this morning  Lower back still sore but not as bad so back at it! PIcked up a pair of vivobarefoot shoes last time I was in Ottawa. Wanted to try them for ages but they are $$$$ I must not be the only one who didn't like the price as they are about $30 less then a year ago. They did not have the evo II in my size but had a pair they said was just for walking around. They fit, were much cheaper then the Evo, looked like a normal shoe, and I had the $15 off so I bought them. Got home, went on line, and vivo lists them as made for tm and road running so I took them out on the road this morning. Hmmmm I may have found a uni-toe I like as well as my VFF's. Time will tell. I was toeing in at first with my left foot (a problem I have in every shoe except the VFF) but had stopped after a bit (was really watching my form / stride). To some degree I find the mid foot land easier in these then in the VFF which is intriguing. Only thing is I thought my big toe was rubbing a bit on one foot. Short run this morning. Will keep testing the shoe and see. If it works it has a bit more of a cushion then the VFF for longer runs but still the barefoot type of feel (and doesn't look as strange!) :D

Battling a bit of a chest cold, so I decided not to run this morning. Bummer- it's really nice out.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Just a slow easy run today. The clouds have broken here, and the sun is shining. Great morning for a run!

It was a bit chilly for my bike ride to work - I was dressed well* for it except for my fingers. "Chilly" is a relative term, though. ;)

*Lightweight tights over my cycling shorts (so I can just wear the shorts home while it's warmer) and a light jacket over my cycling jersey, which I can also omit for my ride home if it's warm enough and not raining.

Morning!

Still easy stuff. I WAS going to do 10-12 but uhm... my key's fell out of my little pouch, and I spent too much time retracing my steps to find them (I did though!) As a result it was only 8  Just one of those days! It'll be easy running this week.

Did an easy 5k run commute to work this morning. Well, easy pace. It certainly didn't feel easy.

I'm all registered for my "do-over" 10k here in Sherbrooke this Saturday! Meanwhile, I plan on a 6-7k run today with maybe some strides thrown in, and probably some good old Sherbrooke hills. (No tempo Tuesday for me, yet!)

Today I will swim. I want to run but my hamstrings are still sore from Sunday. I had a date with my foam roller last night and i am sure all the Eastcoasters heard my screams of pain!!!

See you at Hardwood! Be prepared for a lot of hills.... :D

No run for me today, just a bit of weights this morning. Tomorrow will be an early morning run.

Hammie - stop cursing my toes! The last time you had toe blisters, I got one too! My poor post-marathon feet are still not in great condition. I have a couple of sad looking toe nails.

A really nice 5.5 km run with the stroller this morning - it was so beautiful out! Unfortunately, this cold is still lingering, so I'm not feeling back to my normal self yet, but it was great to get out there.

Wow, what a beautiful morning it was in the GTA, perfect for running. I went 15 km and wished I had time for longer. Fortunately for me there were no barfing cats to interrupt my sleep last night and a solid sleep really does make a difference. :)

Since this is an aggravating day at work (nothing major, just a whole bunch of little things one after another) I'm glad I got the chance to run off the stress and cue the endorphins in advance. Just one week until I visit my family in BC and that's making me smile as well.

Have a great day!

I bought a Camelbak on the weekend and gave it a little test run this morning. Took a new loop and wasn't sure what the distance would be. Ended up doing an easy 17k. Nice route. I'll be doing it more often. Had to stop to (re)burp my pak, it was sloshing around too much. When I finally got it, it was a nice fit. Had on a t-shirt today and hoping when I wear a tank it won't rub on my shoulder/neck but so far I'm happy with it.

Looking to do a few K on the trails after work but no tempo stuff for a while yet. That would just cause more injuries...Looks like a nice day out there.

No run today since I gave blood yesterday. But I walked for about an hour in/around lynn canyon with someone who is new in town and needs a tour guide. :) I showed him the suspension bridge, twin falls bridge, 30 foot pool, then up to the LSCR. So it was a decent substitute for a run.
