Foggy Sunday

Postby Equinox » Sun Jun 10, 2012 6:02 am

Here in Ottawa, I can barely see the other side of the street....but I am sure that at around 0900am the Alcatel-Lucent Sunday by the Rocliffe Parkway will be clear for a little 8-10 km run

Heading out soon for my last long run with the clinic I've been pace leader for. 20k today. So don't feel like running! But I am looking forward to seeing the ladies. I'll miss them when the clinic is over.

Last day of 2 weeks of half marathon recovery. Just shy of 4.5km. Sunny and hot. Tested out the suggested paces for my marathon training and I think they should be good.

A hot and sunny morning here already. Ran an easy 10km this morning. Was planning a bit shorter but based my decision on how I felt after yesterdays hilly trail race. Legs felt fine so I decided to run a little longer. Enjoyed a beautiful morning run before it got too humid. Have a great day everyone! :D

15k for me in 6C, with winds up to 50k/hr and rain! I was going to head out earlier so I could run a bit longer, but it was absolutely pouring rain when I got up. I might not be made of sugar, but why risk it?!

The end of my 2 weeks of half-marathon recovery as well. 10k this morning, thought I'd beat the heat by getting out just before 7am, but that ship had already sailed.

Annoyingly, just when my legs are finally not feeling like they're made of lead, my right IT band started giving me some trouble. I guess it'll be one more easy week this week...

Only 2 of my group were there for the run this morning, so it was nice and relaxed. Since I'm racing a half next weekend, I enjoyed all the extra walk breaks they wanted to take! Now to attempt a mini taper this week to try to rest for next week's race.

I feel like a post-marathon slacker, since 10km was my long run yesterday! Oh well - no guilt!

What a BEAUTIFUL day!! I had a great run, 21.3 in 1:56. I think my days of rolling out at 10am with no water MAY be numbered at this point in the year  but today it was fine. Luckily there was a water fountain at about 13K (and 8 if I had wanted it). I soaked my legs in the lake afteward... ahhhhhhhh it was SO nice!

Today was sort of epic (for me): 10k run in windy, rainy, grey weather, and then walking through Edmonton South Commons and then Southgate, on a shopping spree. Since part of the spree was to replace my sole-less shoes (totally no support), my legs are absolutely wrecked.

Just a short 6k this morning followed by golf. For fun, I brought my garmin along just to see how much walking I do during a round. Turns out I did 7.7k but I didn't wear the Garmin (in my golf bag) so the walking I did on the green wasn't recorded. Average pace was 40:00/km.
