15K this morning, with 5x2000m @ 1/2 marathon pace, and 400m jog recovery. Cold bath after that- my hamstrings feel like someone has very enthusiastically beat them with a rubber hose.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

5k recovery run on TM last night. 10K planned for tonight. My legs still pretty sore from the trail run on Saturday! Feet are ok now that I'm on a flat surface again.

Just got a chance to meet Simon Whitfield and Adam Van Koeverden at work. A running friend works for same company as me and her department had Simon in re sponsorship of PanAm games. They did a 10K training run with the two of them (in about 55 minutes lol). Got to meet and snap a photo! Very cool.

Ruby is my friend's long haired chihuahua. Actually a very nice dog.

Short 4Kish run today ending at my ART where she did a quick hip adjustment for me then 3K home. Lots going on in the next few days. My mom fell last night and lay beside her bed for 2 hours before she was able to get up and get into bed. She is ok, just bruised and stubborn. She was right beside the phone and lives with my aunt and refused to call out for help! I am going today to get her the bars that go under the mattress so she has something to hang on to she gets up out of bed. It is a little help. She should use a cane or walker and refuses. It worries me.

Then my friend's husband died yesterday at the age of 54 from arthritis. He had a rare form of rheumatoid arthritis which attacked his ability to breath and his organs. Not sure when or if there will be a memorial but I hope to go if I can. Then my other friends ex husbands wife passed yesterday as well. She was one of the people I was visiting at our hospice through our therapy dog program and only in her 60's. Then my sister in law's mother passed early this morning. She was 92 and her death was not unexpected. She has been ill for a few weeks. They say deaths come in 3's ... in this case ...

My sister in law's mother lived in the same city as me but my brother and his family are all out of town so I will have family staying with me for the funeral, probably over the Thanksgiving weekend. Plans are not finished as of yet. Saturday is also the 22nd anniversary of my father's death - he also died on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. It could be an emotional weekend and I admit I am already thinking of where / how I get in my long run  (and feel a bit guilty about it) but ... things will figure themselves out as the week goes along. For now trying to get as much work done as possible so I can clear out some time later in the week.

Have a good day everyone.

Sounds like you could use a hug or two..... ((( )))

Yesterday was 5 km on the elliptical... today, it will be my usual 6.2 km loop or a TM run.

Thanks everyone for the icing info for my foot. No high heels for me, thank goodness! It feels like it's getting better today, not much ache.

I'll be doing 13k tempo tonight.

Mostly a rest day. Did some Blogilates this morning.

Ceileigh, I'm sorry to hear all of that, it's so much for you to deal with all at once. Sending strength vibes your way.

This morning was supposed to be speedwork/progression run on the TM but it turned into "just a tough run". Not sure what was going on, but wasn't feeling the love, right from the first step. I wasn't especially tired, my legs weren't sore (except that my right hip was stiff, so that was a contributing issue), my cardio was okay, but it just felt hard and I never found a "happy pace". There were so many times that I was tempted to quit but I kept telling myself that this was like the last 10 km of a marathon and to just get through it as good practice. Next run will be better and maybe I can fit a real speedwork session in some other time this week.

Busy morning and it started late due to a dentist appointment, so back to work for me!

So sorry to hear Ceileigh.

Slow 7k for me today. Mostly a run/walk/text thing :shifty: . Only a few things in life trump running...and texting a friend in need is one of them.

Oh Jane, you already had a lot on your plate. Please take good care of yourself this weekend :YMHUG:

A 10K cut to 7K this morning - the stench from septic pumpings, field/pasture tilling, and recycling collection did me in. :YMSICK:
Will go back out this evening, probably with Duncan at my side.

we'll probably walk down the bcmc as well, so about 6km round-trip.

Looks like the funeral will be Monday. Not sure if visitation will be Sunday or Saturday / Sunday but will have family Friday or Saturday and through the weekend. Guess I will be getting a bigger turkey then I expected and am thinking of trying out my ice cream maker for some pumpkin ice cream. October is a tough month as both my father and my nephew passed in October. Times like this it is easy to just forget running, even with my first full looming just a month away. But a lot of my reason for running a full is in October too - in my father who believed I could do anything I set my heart on and in Curtis, my nephew, who refused to let any obstacle stand in his way of achieving his dreams. Curt was learning to play guitar when he died despite only have the use of one hand (due to a stroke at the age of 10 - he was only 17 when he passed). So keep going never give up ... right!

Thanks everyone for the hugs and thoughts and orange vibes. I think it will be an emotional Thanksgiving weekend but ... I bet there will be a lot of laughter too :?
