Blessed rest!

I had 8.5 hrs solid sleep, and no running! I have so much energy, I'm not sure what to do with it! - I guess doing some work here would help.

Have a good one!

Might be a rest day for me and but maybe I'll run tonight on TM if I have the energy. There have been too many rest days for me this week as well. Have a cold though so we'll see how I feel later.

Hope everyone has a great long weekend and Happy Thanksgiving.

Good luck Sylvie!!!

Nothing for me so far today. A friend from out of town was staying at our place last night, so that meant a late dinner, and going to bed too late to get up early enough to run. My plan is to go for a run after work, either on the TM at the gym or around my neighbourhood, depending on my mood/energy level. The latter is pretty low right now, though, I admit!

Happy Friday - hope everyone enjoys the long weekend. And good luck to all the racers :)

rest day here ... I am glad :O) My niece was expected last night but her parents decided she should stay at the hotel instead of my place so they got her a room there. Thing is no one told me! So I sat here last night waiting for them and eventually worrying that something had happened. Well they got to the hotel, shut off their phones and went to bed. I worried all night that something had happened! So I did not get much sleep!

Groceries today, started preparing food for the weekend, and looks like my other brother will be staying here. Hope to get my lsr in tomorrow or Sunday depending on the weather ...

Great day today! Did the Grouse Grind with my brother-in-law. It doesn't hurt my leg so I renewed my membership pass. I will definitely sneak in a few more outings this month. I didn't go at all in September, partly because I was too stressed and busy but also because everything was bothering my leg. I forgot how much I enjoyed it.

I had a great tempo run home from work today. I've only recently started to push myself again on tempos (this is my third one), and I'm happy that my pace has come down each time. Tonight I did almost 11km at 4:44, and generally I use these as a guide for what my half marathon pace should be. Next weekend I'm running with my friend, and we probably won't go much faster than 1:45 (if that), but I'm encouraged to see that I COULD reasonably line up with the 1:40 group if I was looking to put some pressure on myself. Who knows, maybe if I feel good next weekend I'll see if there's another half soon (Hamilton?) for which I can go for a pb (under 1:39).

Rare occasion with DH home this morning before work, so I got in the first solo run in several weeks instead of taking a rest day. 7 km done - love the warm mornings we had this week. Seems like the cold nights are rolling in tonight.

QC - don't know how to highlight a post :( but I LIKE VERY MUCH what you said :). Glad the tempos are feeling good & that the speed is coming along. I just got back into some tempos too - have also done 3 so far; it's tough to get used to the feeling of the effort but rewarding to see progress!

Have fun in your half next weekend. Sounds like running w/ your friend will ensure that :). And if it feels good you should totally find another race to do - I know you've got a faster race in you and I bet it's closer than you think!
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA
