i was expecting coffee beans.

i'm bummed that i missed the DT calendar. :(

I was thinking about building my own calendar! Maybe going in and getting 10 g pouches of like 30 different flavours I'd never tried before. I understand they'll sell in pkgs that small, but it seemed like a lot of packaging (and time for the store clerk!).

You'd only need 24..... ;-)

Considering the amount of tea options with artifical or natural flavouring... you never know! However, FN was indeed Forever Nuts :D

What are the favorite herbals? I'm going to go in tomorrow before class and try something new, but I also want to try something that isn't in the advent calendar.

Per David's Tea, each daily portion is enough for 2 cups.

Really? Interesting since it says 237g (about 10g per day, right?), and then elsewhere on the site, it says that 50g is about 25 cups, or, about 2 to 2.5g per cup.

So...at 10g per day....that's 4-5 cups.

I'm open to correction on my math......

I didn't read the box - just repeating the tweet that they sent me. I thought it was 5g per cup though - and, I didn't read anything on the site so this is just my brain retelling my thoughts :D

When I look at the portions ( yes I peeked at day 1 to see how they were packed) it looked to me to be about the same amount I'd use for a large mug (14-16 oz). That would be 2 cups.

That's why I got one for Scotty, because I knew I was not going to want to share. ;)

From their FAQ's:

How much tea do I need per cup?
Each cup of tea usually requires about 2-2.5g of tea. That’s about a teaspoon or a teaspoon and a half. To ensure you get the perfect cup every time, try our DAVIDsTEA Perfect Spoon. It’s an easy and stylish way to be sure you don’t go under or overboard. We sell our teas online in 50g, 100g, and 250g quantities.

50g makes about 25 cups of tea
100g makes about 50 cups of tea
250g makes about 125 cups of tea

Ah well - regardless, there is more than 1 cup of tea/day! :)

I have a Perfect Spoon (from Epicure). I can tell you that the first 100g of Sleigh Ride I bought did not give me 50 cups (even if you take my big mug into account) but I prefer my tea stronger (I am Nova Scotian, after all) so I usually use more.

So I'm thinking depending on personal preference and size of mug, each sample could be 1-5 cups of tea.

sounds about right! :)

I know that braveheart is on the search for an advent calendar today. If she doesn't find one, I'm thinking of getting some traveler tea bags and sending her a "home made" advent calendar with the teas from my calendar - so, there better be at least two cups/day! :)

in other news, I'm drinking coco chai rooiboos right now. I like it, but, don't love it.

okay, now that I've tried about 26 different kinds - what's the best way to order?

I think I'd like to have about 5-7 different kinds in my "Stock" eventually, and, I'd like to have tins of some sort and not baggie things.
