Perth Kilt Run 2013
Perth Kilt Run 2013
Registration is only $25 until Robbie Burns Day (Jan 25th):

I've always wanted to try this one and since it sounds like it might not be an annual event anymore, I'm in for this year. Anyone have a kilt from a previous year that they won't be using this year that I can rent or borrow?
Anyone else running it this year?

If worse comes to worst, you can order a kilt for about $60 from sportkilt.com -- they are intended for running in, and they are comfortable. Just be sure to order at least a month ahead of time.

Oh, you can get them for $35 from the race, but I just thought someone might have one that they're not using this year. As the stereotype goes, we Scotsmen are a frugal bunch.
That's a great site, even though they're missing the MacLean tartan.

I think Al, T and I are going to all participate again this year
When your legs get tired, run with your heart.
Overcome the notion that you must be regular. It robs you of your chance to be extraordinary.

Looking through the site a bit more, I saw the section for "Commando kilts" and thought 'aren't all kilts commando kilts' but then I clicked on it and they meant commando differently. Maybe the section should be called camouflage kilts or mil-pat kilts.
Re: Perth Kilt Run 2013
I so want to do this run someday...maybe my sister will come with me....
What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

They hit their first 500 threshold in registration earlier this week, so, they confirmed a free cup of brewskie will be available at the finish line again this year ...
Since they currently hold the world record, this will not be an official WR attempt, so the race kit pickup should be a bit quicker process this year, in one of their recent posts, apparently ...

Perth Kilt Run announces race cap.
With the changes to the race course this year, we felt having a cap on the runners would allow us to work through the approval process with more confidence.
We have decided to recognize our title race sponsor - Lanark Mutual Insurance .... by capping the 8K race at 1,896 kilted runners ... as it was in 1896 that Lanark Mutual Insurance was founded!
As of February 5th, the 8K main race is therefore 62% full !
