Intervals Tuesday

Postby erinmcd » Tue Apr 02, 2013 7:04 am

Good morning all!

15K this morning. Warm up, the 6 x 1600m @ between 10K & 1/2 marathon pace with 400m jog recovery, then cool down.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Yup

15min easy - 4x10min @ 10km pace with 1min recoveries - 15min easy. 15.4km total. Puppy nailed it :)

ETA:
Lunchtime 44min - 8.65km recovery run. Nasty, nasty wind made it more of a workout than a recovery.

It's now April, so time to get my butt in gear commuting with two feet and a heart beat. Today was a walk to work - 4.5k. That's all I'll have time for today unless I can get out for a short run tonight.

Started the day with a 1-hr weights workout: squats, thrusters, dips, box jumps, russian twists, and dumbbell rows.... was fun!!

Lunchtime will be a run.

Afterwork will be a swim.

Evening will be a play.

I think that's it! :D

8 km outside. -9C/-12WC, clear. Some paths were not very nice for running: bumpy &icy &kept threatening to turn ankle. Others in much better shape. Yoga tonight.

Just under 11km planned for lunch followed by some core work. Today will be my first run in capris of 2013. Hopefully shorts will follow soon :) Will do a bit of strength at home this evening after work.

Have a great day!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

15 km this morning in the minus 6 C, minus 12 with the wind chill. Yes, I've run in worse this winter but after a week or more of above freezing and sunshine, it felt very cold! At least there was no ice, and at 6:20 when I left my house there was some daylight. It's Spring according to the calendar, and Mother Nature has almost caught up. :)

Boy, there really are a lot of familiar faces here that I used to see at the RR forum! I should have come here sooner. It's like being the last person to migrate to the kitchen at a party…

Wind training for me (cuz it's a brrrreeezy day!). I ran up through downtown, stopping at nearly every light, so it was a kind of interval training. Good exercise. I have some kind of back issue that I need to resolve, though. (I'm sure I didn't help it much by skiing on late-season heavy snow this past weekend.) By halfway through I felt like I was slapping my feet down, and I was feeling pretty stiff in the lower right back especially. Well, I have a massage booked on Sunday, and I'll book a chiro sometime soon.

Nothing today, it was a draining day at work and despite the best intentions when I got home I'm just tired so I'm sitting doing nothing and enjoying it.
