I'm doing the half!

My condo is less than 150 meters from the start so anyone who would rather wait it out in warmth and not have to use a port-potty, please PM me. Comfort can be arranged.

Very cool about the shirts! Thank you for sharing. I have just ordered one.

And thank you purdy65 for your offer, however I am arriving with a few others so wouldn't impose. Hoping for some great weather

Just reviewing start times:

They switched it up! The marathon now starts an hour before the half. Is anyone concerned that this this will mean a head on between the two at some point? Like at the finish line. The 2 hour halfers will be finishing with the three hour full? There will be a nasty half an hour there I think. Last year almost all of the halfers were through before the first marathoners.

On course should be OK, but I wouldn't want to be a volunteer having to figure out who gets what medals in that chaos.

I guess they needed the streets open earlier. :?

It was the same last year. I was part of one minor issue along Wellington Street, approaching the 25K water station. Despite the water station being on the right and next turn on the left, the bike leading the Half leader decided he should ride his bike to the right of runners through our arms that were grabbing water - we were running 5:00/K and he was leading a runner at 3:00/K.

Me! Second time. I did not consider this race until Rob Ford starting picking on it...thus leaving it in need of support from normal folks. So I ran it in May and quite liked it.

OK.

Trying not to get too excited, but the forecast is for sunny with 48F @ race start - warming up to 57 with 0% chance of rain.

I couldn't be so lucky could I?

Anyone have a good profile? The one on the map seems off (41k instead of 42.2k?)

It looks like it is the last 1.2K missing. It is flat, it is the 29th K backwards.

Now this is hilarious, from the fourth comment:

This will be my second time doing this marathon. First was last year and it was my first 4:56. I have done 2 others since then Scotia Toronto and Goofy.

My question to those who have run this course before. I waw thinking of trying to do a negative split 4:15 but the first half of the course is down hill and will be the coolest temps as the day goes on. Does it make sense for a race like this to try just for an even pace or positive split because of the elevation drop

Good assessment of why your first half may be quicker. I'd say try for even or a small negative split as far as energy output goes - but pace may not reflect this effort. A perfectly run race would likely see a minute or 90 seconds saved on the Rosedale Valley Road stretch and other downhills in the first half that would be hard to match in the second.
