Re: 100 miles -- OrleansRunner's report
Congratulations on your first 100 miler! I enjoyed following your journey along the way. Amazing!

You looked strong from start to finish, never complained, and I had no doubt you would cross that finish line. I too, feel like I have a new friend. I guess plodding through pitch black darkness, trying not to slide off a cliff, and avoiding horse poop can do that! It was so much fun and I was so excited for you from beginning to end
What an amazing accomplishment, one that I'm sure you'll be proud of forever!
I can't say it better, Sylvie!! Congratulations on a superb accomplishment!! If you do another next year and it is at all feasible, I'll be there to help out in whatever manner I can!!
Re: 100 miles -- OrleansRunner's report
WOW, just WOW!!
I loved following along in your journal, then you explained the race and your thoughts so we could follow along there too, You are dedicated to the process and such an Inspiration.

I am SO happy you finished strong and where you wanted to be. Kudos to your coach, your pacers (yay Robin and Ken), your husband for his support, and of course to you for your endless dedication and strong training.
I was thinking about you all day Saturday and Sunday morning, and checking in with the updates. Your persistence and strength is a true inspiration.
Congratulations yet again.
Exactly what I wanted to say.
Bravo Sylvie. Can't wait to follow your next adventure.

Re: 100 miles -- OrleansRunner's report
Thank you everyone for your kind words....
IG, I stuck with Perpetuem for drink, and Ensure for nutrition, and Coke at the aid stations -- hand a handful of potato chips and a couple of boiled, salted potatoes, but wanted to limit the food intake because of my "iffy" stomach.... and Immodium is my friend....
No sleeping -- got sleepy a couple of times, but the Coke helped!!

Incredible, simply incredible Sylvie. I was telling your story to everyone I have chatted with all weekend. 160kms...mind boggling. You must be so mentally and physically strong to accomplish this, I can't even begin to imagine.
Congratulations.
Congratulations.

I really don't enjoy biking 160k, so I can't imagine running that far.
Congrats on your race!

I wanted to wait until I had a quiet block of time before I read your report--after all, I was going on a hundred-mile adventure! Congratulations! You took me to places I never imagined, and made me feel I was right there with you. Thanks for a beautiful report.
