I do this for free here, and it's super popular... maybe I should start charging. :P

Re: Trail Running Clinic for Road Runners / Triathletes
Is there a training session for trail runners who want to learn how to run roads? I suck at road running! I know, you're thinking that I need a clinic on how to run roads for OLD trail runners... That hurt!

Wish I had seen this offer before I signed up.
For $20 I figured I couldn't go wrong if I learned a thing or two though.

Ha ha, factor in the $600 air ticket to Vancouver and Dave & Lise's clinic ends up being way cheaper.

So you're saying that running with an iPad and doing it by Skype wouldn't work?

Re: Trail Running Clinic for Road Runners / Triathletes
To be fair, mine isn't set up like a formal clinic... it's just drop-in and I just show newbies the trails. I'm not doing talks or guest speakers, though I do get a lot of questions about gear and sometimes about technique (not that I'm an expert but I have enough experience to at least point them in the right direction). I get enough people out every time that I have recruited one of my trail buddies to help out by taking the front of the pack and I take up the back. :) Mostly it's about the joy of showing new trail runners around my favourite spots. :)

Re: Trail Running Clinic for Road Runners / Triathletes
It ended up being well worth the $20. Started at 6:30 and went all the way until 9:00 with drills and running interspersed with frequent instruction.
They started out with talking a bit about trail shoes, followed by a warm-up and then basic form drills, starting with A, B, and Cs, then moving into some other stuff like side shuffles and different ways of shifting our weight.
Then it progressed to form work on climbing and descending. We eventually ran up the full hill, stopping a couple of times to get feedback and instruction on the way up.
At the top of the hill we got into progressively more difficult trails and obstacles. The advice ranged from specific to each obstacle, to just general advice about choosing the best line.
I would definitely recommend it.
