Sunny Saturday

Postby Jwolf » Sat Jul 06, 2013 7:24 am

It's way too early to be awake on a weekend! But it's going to be a gorgeous day. Traveling across North America today, so a rest day from training.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

It's too hot to do anything but eat strawberry shortcake and drink beer. Rest day for me, but might head to the lake later.

Schedule says 18k for today but the route we tentatively have planned is a bit long for that. To be seen if we alter the route or do some extra k's.
Hopefully it stays a bit cooler until around 11

just finished my long run 22 km, left at 6:30 and had already built up a sweat 30 min into the run. The humidity is disgusting. Will be heading to a patio in the afternoon to enjoy some cold ones. Have a good weekend everyone.

27k done very early. Felt very good for not having run that far in a long time.

Glad to get it done early. It's heating up here!

Up early for a 20 km trail run before T-ball practice. I had to change things up today: my usual spot is a crime scene under investigation.

Summer Saturday ritual: run to Sunnyside (while my wife takes the streetcar), swim, brunch. A little sticky out! I ran on King and started at the same time as the streetcar and kept catching up to it at lights, but after Spadina it passed me for good, and my wife beat me handily to the pool. I got there just as they opened the gate at 10, though, so all good! And dang, a swim feels good after a run. I highly recommend it. But if you go to Sunnyside, get there early -- it fills up in the afternoon!

PBs: Half-marathon: 1:35:32; 5K: 19:54 (both 2012)

A bit over 5k done, sooooooo sloooooowly!! I was really trying to be careful so I didn't feel too hot, and I didn't want to wait till dark to run as I've done this week (and will probably need to do next week by the looks of things). It was ok along the water- I didn't feel overheated at all but I was definitely glad I didn't go far. I love that super sweaty feeling I get after running in summer.

Ang... your idea of strawberry shortcake and beer sounds like HEAVEN!!! Glad you're feeling better by the sounds of it!

It's a hot/sunny one out there for sure! I'd planned to ride 50-60K, but got convinced to go "just a little bit further" and ended up with 80K (3hrs). It was a great ride, but I ran out of water and nutrition. :?

10.6k done with some detours due to mud and debris from the flood still.

Barebuns1, if you read this, stay away from Police Point Park! Still too wet and muddy to run there.

Slow 4.5 k done with a small child along on the bike. It included a stop at a playground and a neighbour's garage sale where his kindergarten friend was selling lemonade.

47 minutes on the rowing machine tonight. That will help digest the BBQ we had earlier...and the dark rum & coke(s).
