I was going to start it before I ran, but figured I'd wait until after. 10k "long run" before work. 5k in to the gym, dropped off bag, then 5k on the waterfront and around the gardens. Some day, 10k will be an easy distance again. Not today!

Another scorcher here today.

Did 10.5 km this morning. Packing the car up now to take the kids to the Peterborough Zoo and then camping at the Warsaw Caves tonight.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

It's a bit warm already today for it to be "easy". I did 10k recovery yesterday in the heat and found it tough. The fact you finished 10 already is impressive enough. Rest day here, as with all Mondays and Fridays.

Good for you Ang! I plan to run later today after sundown. I planned that yesterday too and was too tired, but hopefully today it will happen!

It wasn't too bad when I headed out - only 20C. I'm going to blame my exhaustion on still trying to get back into running after more than a month off. How long can I use that excuse?

But the heat is the reason I've moved my long runs to Mondays. I don't like running in the heat, and figure I'd rather just get up a little earlier Monday morning to get it done before work, using 5k of it as commute time, than getting up super early on the weekend and missing out on sleeping in time.

Beat the heat for the most part. That will be the moral of the story for the next week!

Easy 8K recovery run with stretching and strength afterwards.

Legs are feeling a lot better today - especially after the easy run and stretching.

Visit to the Sports Doc last Monday, ultrasound scan on my foot on Saturday and a great session with my RMT today. Outcome was I ran 5 times 1 & 1 on the TM tonight . Main issue is that my SF led to some tendinitis in the Flexor tendon attached to that metatarsal. Plan now in place to fix that and bring it back to normal state. And I had some nasty knots/adhesions on my left thigh due to inactivity and lack of use of the foam roller. Again, plan in place to fix that.

I had a nice and easy 9km in the afternoon. The weather was hot but it wasn't too bad. I just picked the shady side of the street. :)

Just got back from 5K through the neighbourhood. It's still hovering around mid 30's with humidex and it was really sweaty out there, LOL. That said, I slowed the pace down quite a bit and it was actually a very enjoyable run under the moon. A nice clear night and the legs actually felt great. Glad I went out instead of hitting the TM!

I went out at 9:15 and did about 5.5. It was STILL super hot (felt like 33), and for once there was absolutely no breeze off the lake. I felt fine while I was running (though I was slow even for me these days), but after I finished I felt really hot and got this wave of guilt that I maybe shouldn't have run, that it was bad for the baby, etc. I even took my temperature (it was normal). I've had lots of water and I'm sure I'm fine, but I will definitely check the weather before going out even when it's dark from now on. Over 30 with still air is just too hot, and even if it's NOT doing damage, it's not worth it and I don't like worrying.

Just finished a 10 km easy pace run. Still feels like 33 degrees at even though it is past 11pm which must be why I am drenched in sweat.
