Tuesday -- DOMS Day 2

Postby orleansrunner1962 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 6:32 am

Yep, Day 2 is worse than Day 1 -- but I don't mind DOMS -- it confirms that I worked hard!

I will be swimming tonight, and look forward to it as it usually helps with the hips and glutes!!

Today is Day 3 for me, and i'm feeling MUCH better than yesterday! I didn't get up early enough to walk to work today (and I have a meeting up north at the end of the day so I can't walk home), so I'll go for a walk when I get home from work.

Day 3 for me too. Except for stomach/abs and some slight tightness about my right knee (massage Thursday) not too bad. Racing 42.2km is harder than Running 100km. Body is tired though.

I think I've sobered up from all the wine-tasting yesterday down around Picton after Sunday's marathon. Was only a Sherpa but thankful for that given the pouring rain over the last 10K. Hopefully a short run today in the sunshine.

12K with 8K @ tempo (5:01 today). Felt pretty good! Not many of these tempo runs left in the cycle!

Tuesday -- DOMS Day 2

First leg of a marathon trip home from Lisbon. Sitting at Heathrow waiting for first connection. Just time enough or a little lunch then time to sprint to my gate once they decide to post it's secret location. The board indicates that all gates are a 10-20 minute walk but gate not posted until 5 minutes prior to boarding :o

I hate that about Heathrow! At least give me an idea of which direction my gate will be so I can start making my way there sooner rather than later!

I'm sure Mark 2.0 likely knows some secret way of finding out which gate area you're going to be at.

The "boarding" time really is the time you need to leave the big general area. Don't worry- they won't leave without you. :)

Just back from my first yoga class since my favorite instructor left. To put it frankly, I didn't care for the new instructor's style. But, I'll give it another try sometime and see if I hate it less.

I only ran 2kms to test out my left knee and now my right calf. They are both acting up. I think it was my sandals. I tend to live in them in the summer time.
