Quiet Sunday - Groundhog Day

The roads are a mess, looks like another hike in the woods today...

10k with the clinic this morning. Snow packed and slippery in the cemetery, so it was very slow.

I read on Twitter that the MGT was clear, so I headed out, optimistic. Well, it was cleared/plowed, but not salted, so there was a thin layer of ice between the puddles. :? After nearly falling about 500m into my run, I turned around. I briefly contemplated running on neighbourhood streets, but that proved to be a mess of slush and ankle-deep puddles.

6 miles outside today...so much snow but too nice of a day temperature wise to keep it indoors! Shoveled twice today alone as well....pooped now, time to rest.

Break day, with the exception of the 90 minute snow moving exercise. If I see any groundhogs on my street they best run!

First run in over 2 weeks. Felt so nice to be outside even with the slippy snowy roads. 6km done with a side of shovelling.

Seeing the ice, I opted for a 6k walk instead - plus some vigorous shoveling.

I ran for the 2nd time since my injury. My first time was early in the week, I lasted just 9 minutes before my leg wouldn't let me continue. Today I ran for 15 minutes non stop :D it was just 2 km but my hamstring didn't hurt too much. I been doing stretching, strengthening and cycling several times a week since before Christmas, and my Physiotherapist reminds me that I'll be doing the work, not him. I was pleasantly surprised by today's run.
It's slow progress , but a step (many steps) in the right direction.

Had a tumble on the ice last weekend doing a race pace 1/2...had to skip Sundays as I'd aggravated my left ITBS. Only ever struggled with the right before. Ran Wed quit after 3.5k, been aggressively rolling it and managed 7k before it bothered me yesterday. Hit 9.7k today before I stopped....nice to see it moving in the right direction quickly. Fingers crossed it keeps on improving fast.

BTW have I ever mentioned how much I hate road running? Come on Spring...I'm count in on ya to prove that rodent wrong.

The YMCA here in Medicine Hat has about 20 tm's. But only 1 is metric. They just bought 3 more and not one is metric. Why ??
I ran 7km on the only metric tm in the place. :)
