Postby shaggytour2005 » Wed Apr 02, 2014 11:34 am

Hey Duathletes,

We are trying to get duathlon numbers up and spread some goodwill to the RDs in Ontario (to start). We would love to have as many of you on board as possible so if you would like more Duathlon information, please check out the new site www.duathloncentral.com and folllow us @du_enthusiasts on twitter.

Happy Training!

Personally..I think you two need to...hmm...what's that term..."consciously uncouple"...but in this case it's more a case of "consciously ignore each other".

RM is pretty much like a somewhat functional...at times dysfunctional family. You know it..we all have relatives we don't like  .

I suggest both of you promise to ignore each other for the next decade...that's what I've done with one particularly annoying SIL in my family...works for me :D

Try it...it may work for both of you!!! :D :D

I'm a onetime duathlete who subsequently learned to swim. I laughed out loud.

In any event - I'm jealous of you guys in Ontario that you have enough events to merit a website. We've got two in Canmore (one road and one trail), one in Bragg Creek and that's about it.

I thought Jono's line was funny too. :)

Sorry I didn't meant to make it sound that way, trix. I'm a pretty slow swimmer too. What I meant was that jono's comment didn't really bother me but Mark's did because I thought it was harsh to someone who can do a 4K open swim in "only" 90 minutes a "non-swimmer". But I can see why you'd feel put off by jono's too and we shouldn't do that-- there's no need for it. Makes it sound like we need to put someone else down to make ourselves feel better. That's not what this place is all about.

Anyway I didn't want to continue here because this thread has already been hopelessly hijacked... Maybe mods can do something to separate out the original info.

You two must enjoy blasting each other, otherwise you would choose to use the "ignore" function, or whatever it's called on this board.

Anyhow, one of my long term life goals is to learn how to swim. I simply have never had the available time to do this.

I should be able to retire within a decade, and swimming will enter my life at that time. Until then, live and let live!

I chuckled too.

I tried to get passable at swimming and really stink at it. So I have done a few duathlons.

Ha sorry I guess it helps to know I'm a bad swimmer and haven't been in the pool much in the last 4 years, and I've been doing (gasp!) duathlons! Now we can all lighten up a bit, right? :)
