Woman Collapses at Half Marathon

Postby Spirit Unleashed » Thu Apr 06, 2017 8:03 pm

This video of a woman in a half marathon in Philadelphia is somewhat sickening to watch. Her knees buckle so 2 runners grab her arms, but she still can't stand so another runner carries her across the finish. The news commentators seem very dense by saying how loving that is when it is actually a medical emergency.

I can't see the video, it says not available. I'm sure the people helping thought they were doing her a favour, so let's hope it was nothing more than trashed legs. If it was more, I hope she received the medical attention she needed and is doing well.

This video plays even at work. Sad story, may her soul rest in piece and condolences go out to her kids, husband and family.

I saw this video posted on FB (and may have already been posted in another discussion here on RM). From what I can see, the third person who arrived to provide assistance was wearing latex gloves, so he was likely a medic for the event.

I can't tell if it was two different races, but it definitely is two different women.

The woman in the video above (name not given but he has braided dark brown hair) had her knees buckle on her and she was helped to the finish; she did not die.

The other woman (Lindsay Doherty, mother of three, blonde hair) finished the race on her own but collapsed after the fine from an internal hemorrhage and died. :(

When reading the articles in the above links .. two different races were indicated .. one in Philadelphia and the second one in Scranton ... just got confused with the poster implying it was the same person ?? the First one happened on Jan 27 while the second one likely this past Sunday on April 2nd based on the date of the articles ....
