Which running shoes are in your closet?
Which running shoes are in your closet?
Just thought it would be fun to learn a little more about shoe preferences.
I have a hunch we all own more than one pair...

Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
technically, none of them are in my closet. :P
Mizuno Inspires on the road (not for long though... since they changed the shoe and I have to find a new one... grr)
La Sportiva Sonic on trails
Vibrams for fun
NB for walking

LOL! I knew someone was going to say that...
Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
I've been running and training with Asics 11xx and 21xx since I started running ... have been racing with my Mizuno Exlixers the past 2-3 years, and played with my Nike Lunar Glide Trainers for both training and up to a 1/2 Marathon race this year .... Loved my Pearl Izumi Pace until they stopped carrying them in Ottawa, by most Retailers, have tried Mizuno Inspires, Saucony Omni's ... have not had much luck with Brooks nor New Balance, most likely due to 'Fit' issues, where I am just not comfortable with those two brands for whatever reason .... Also, have some Mizuno Musha's and pair of AsicsTri Noosa Tri / racing flats in the box for next year and/or for 5K / 10K shorter road races ...

Mizuno Wave Riders for the road, Montrail summer trail shoes and I just ordered some North Face Ultras for winter trail shoes.

Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
2 pairs of Reeboks.
Other: Loco & Pearl Izumi. I also run in Aqua Socks (not sure who makes 'em) and some Merrell sandals, but I didn't put a check mark there because they're not actually running shoes.

This should be which shoes AREN'T in your closet
At the moment I have:
Brooks Adrenaline 9 (past 500k, found good for long runs but abit too narrow for my foot)
New Balance 769 (nice feel but hurt my arch )
Asics 2140's (same as the nb's above, dont know what i was thinking - stupid RR man for selling them to me)
Saucony Omni 7's (have had at least 5 pairs of these - waaay past 500k but love them so much, they get rocked out every now and again)
Saucony Omni 8's (nice shoe, but somehow a bit different to the 7's and still not sure if i like them)
Nike Lunarglides (just bought 2 weeks ago, so nice and light, feel like im cheating on my sauconys with them)
I feel like i need some kind of loyalty program with shoes, buy 10 get 1 free.
My husband came up with a good idea the other night a website where you enter in your shoe types and weekly or monthly mileage on them (or link with your workout tracking site) and when you hit past a predecided limit, they send you out a new pair I feel like im buying new shoes on almost a monthly basis

Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
Mizuno Inspire 4 and 5, Elixer 3 (love 'em) and Ascend 3 trail shoes. I had been piling up some miles on new Nike Lunar Guides. They are very comfortable on my feet, but seem to coincide with new knee pain. I'm going to park them for a while as a trial, I know it might be a coincidence.

LMAO! Tracy... your husband has a GOOD idea there.
Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
Current shoe rotation:
1 Nike Span 6 for long races
1 Nike Lunar Glide for short races
2 Nike Span 5 for speedwork
3 Nike Span 4 for general mileage
1 Merrell trail shoe (unknown model) for mangling my feet on technical trails
One more fresh pair of Span 4 is in reserve, so it's almost time to stock up on the Span 6.

Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
Primarily ASICS for running. But I have one pair of Nike Free and a pair of Solomon that I was planning on using for trail running, but prefer for just walking around in.

Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
Mizuno Ronin 2
Mizuno Musha
Mizuno Wave Inspire 5 (don't much care for these)
My beloved NB 903s with well over 2500km on them and holes the size of quarters on both uppers (which I refuse to give up until they literally disintegrate mid-run sometime)
NB all weather 765 trail(ish) shoes
I refuse to pay more than 70 bucks for a pair of shoes, so I'm not fussy on brands and just buy whatever is light and on sale.

Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
In my closet...well, mostly on my feet:
2 pair of Saucony Triumph 6 (one green, one purple - easy to rotate!)
1 pair Nike Free (for walking only so far)
1 pair North Face trail runners (ancient, smelly, and need to be retired... no clue what kind though)
1 pair (spent!) of Saucony Ride 2 (they were good...but I think I prefer the extra support of the Triumphs)
deceased: Asics Nimbus 10s (toe box a little big for me and the lacing system was a bit wonky)

I'm going to sound really boring.
Mizuno Wave Creation 10's.
That's it. There's a couple of old pairs of Wave Creation 9's that are used for either yard clean up or dog walking or commuting to work. Otherwise, that's it.
The DH - Asics Keyano's and Zoots.

New Balance, Mizuno, Asics, Saucony and Newtons. Only wear the Newtons now though. Can't stand to look at the others.

Mostly Saucony and a couple pair of Solomon. I missed putting the La Sportivas in there by the looks of it though!
I'm thinking my user name should now be Imelda Marcos!

Those are all yours ?? You keep them all ? I tend to donate about 10-12 pairs each year to the Mission via the local RR store ...

Re: Which running shoes are in your closet?
Andy most of those are in current rotation. Although the picture is from the summer & I think a couple have been retired since then. Remember though, I wear my running shoes all day, every day now. I switch them out and never wear the same ones 2 days in a row. But I'm lucky that in when one pair passes along there's another pair already broken in & ready to go!
(that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it)
Doesn't hurt that I also wear the Saucony sample size and am about 90 minutes away from the outlet. I've scored 3 pairs of shoes for $120 by being there at the right time!
