Steve, great news!!

You can certainly feel the Olympic buzz here. Flags are flying and everyone seems to be wearing some type of RED and WHITE. I have to admit it's pretty cool.

No run for me today as our LSD has been changed to tomorrow rather than Sunday so I'm giving my legs a rest after last night's training (which ROCKED).
Tomorrow is a 10 miler with the last 3 miles to be run at 1/2 marathon race pace. Should be fun.
On the books for 2017:
50th Birthday!!
Boston Marathon- April 17th what a day- DREAM COME TRUE
Run for Water 10K- May 28th
Scotia Half - June 25th
Trail River Run half marathon- Sept. 30- CANCELLED
MEC 10K Race 10- Nov. 5

I was watching the Olympic coverage when I was at the gym at lunch. Who was the elderly guy carrying the torch on the zamboni? I couldn't hear the TV well as The View was on the other TV. I just heard he was 92 and was important in "this community". Not sure if they were referring to Vancouver or the sporting community. He looked happy!

I did 30 minutes of strength work.

I'm watching it at one of the LiveCity locations!

My Vancouver morning:

It was fate, perhaps... I did a bit of yoga, then eventually left home, missing my bus to the Seabus. But just as I was walking down, giving up and figuring I'd be on the next one, 15 mins later, a bus came by, so I made the Seabus with 20 seconds to spare. I was walking to work, and had decided to go up to the Tim Horton's on Dunsmuir, when I saw "stuff" going on, and it turns out, I'd run into the torch relay. Then I bumped into someone from work, and we got moved off the road and stuck in a spot, and the torch flame was exchanged RIGHT in front of us. I got some great video. :D

Working for a while today. Hardly anyone is here. Then off to meet folks... and enjoy the buzz.

Now that I look at a map, Burrard isn't near your work. I got my streets mixed up.

It's not far. I met it at Richards and Pender, I think it was (wasn't really paying attention).

Oh, and about that running thing...

It didn't happen last night, because I decided to wait out the Seabus closure by going for a drink and a bite with my coworker. :) Then I just did my housework and stuff. Was going to run this morning, but I did some yoga instead. I'll be on the trails for 4 or 5 hours tomorrow, so I figure it doesn't really matter.

That is so cool !!!

No running for me today, I have a sore foot, I think it is my metatarsal (sp?). I am bummed because my running has been going really well lately. I have been icing it and trying to stay off my feet, but that's really difficult. Now I'm going to go and make a birthday cake for my daughter. She's coming home from university for the weekend and we're celebrating her 19th birthday, can't wait :D

I was going to run today and rest tomorrow, but I've decided to switch it because I'm feeling lazy today. :)

Instead, off to the RMT and then shopping and errands. :)

Jsmitty - a very tough thing you did (but sounds like the right thing). You might not be understood by the people involved, but good for you.

Gourou - Yay! Congrats. My sister also says it was the best thing she ever did.

Oh, and the running thing... rest day for me. I am aching from my core class last night.
