Forzani Mother's Day 5k and 10k
(Calgary, Alberta)

About 2,500 5 K, 2,500 10K and 5,000 walkers all go off with a self seated start. Flat course that starts and ends in the downtown but that is not a problem as the roads on the course are shut down. The prerace pick up expo is a great place to pick up last year's models of runners at 50-75% off. I have run both races - the 10K has a little hill at the half way mark.

All very well organized. One aid station for both races, both at the half way mark.

The only hint is that go to the very front of the pack if you are an above average runner as it can take 5 minutes to make your way through the slow pack who decides they want to start much further up than their anticipated time.

Best 5 K time, 19:38 while wearing shorts and a singlet when it was - 5 with windchill and snow. Ran fast to keep warm.
