In terms of scenic marathons, this one takes the cake. You're running through a temperate rain forest, on a beautiful beach, through two quaint towns and a nice ocean breeze coming in. This is a very small marathon. The course is TOUGH. I've attached the elevation chart. Come for fun but this is not the type of course you'll likely BQ on if this is your first run at trying.
In previous years, they've alternated the course annually. This year (2006), they ran it Tofino -> Ucluelet. The weather is usually perfect for marathoning 2nd week of June.
