I'm actually a writer, looking for people who can speak to me about this for an article. I've been trying to improve my 10k and half marathon times, and I know that they say, "lighter = faster" (I've experienced this firsthand -my 10k time went from 59 minutes to 53 after losing a little over 10 lbs).
But I'm wondering if anyone has taken the getting lighter part too far? I've spoken with coaches and physiologists, but I'd love to hear about the experience from a runner's perspective.
If you have lost too much weight in an attempt to improve your race time, AND are comfortable talking about your experience, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks!
Kristin
(I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules with this! I've never done the forum thing before.)
Have you lost too much weight trying to get faster?
