Oh dear... I'm thinking of doing a race in 2 days?

For beginners, penguins, re-beginners, social types and the more low key runners for whom Boston is a tea party, not a race in the near future

Oh dear... I'm thinking of doing a race in 2 days?

Postby killerbeetle » Fri Apr 30, 2010 8:23 pm

haha oh my... I just randomly searched to see the race schedule for this year and I noticed there is a 5km race in two days. And of course my brain pipes up, "do it! do it!" haha. Well, I could... I ran 7km yesterday and today was a rest day. And I could make tomorrow a rest day and simply aim to *finish*. Which, all things considered, could be an attainable goal. I've been running for a few months... But then there is the whole issue of my asthma flare up. I've had to run indoors for the past week or so...

:what: Oooohhhh my.... Should I do it? I haven't run an actual RACE in... six years! Not that I would run at a race pace, of course...

Thanks for the kicks in the bum! :P I was totally all for it, but my asthma was pure SUCK all day today. Wheezy just sprinting across a 200m parking lot. Ran on the indoor track again tonight instead. Got my run in, but had to take my puffer midway, even in climate controlled air. Hopefully the asthma flare ups subside soon 'cause there is an 8K race in a month that I have my eye on...

No need to put yourself in danger just for a race. As you said, there will be other races. :D
