It was a real honour nad pleasure to run with you and pace you a bit. You were a beacon in orange as I tried to catch you over 3-4K. You ran a great race! Congrats on your PB!

Sub 4. Sweet.

After NCM a year and a half ago I wasn't sure what to expect, although Manitoba set that record straight.

You showed a lot of courage and determination out there. Congrats.

Someone should have taken a photo of all the crystallized sweat on his face - I met Lorne on the stairs of Crystal Palace, gave him a big hug, and realized he was sparkling in salt! Hope you rehydrated after that, buddy!

Lorne - I'm just getting around to reading all these PEC reports, and I'm so pleased you had a strong race. And a smokin' new marathon PB. It's my turn to buy you a beer the next time I'm in Montreal!

Congrats!

Really nice, Lorne. :) I'm so glad it worked out well for you. It must have been great to see Mich on the course when she was doing her relay leg, too. :)

Lorne...what a great report and awesome race!!!!!! You set a goal and not only met it, but beat it!!! How many people can say they've done that? Super job!

Can't wait to see what you do next time.

I enjoyed running with you-you looked waaaaaaaay happier than I felt for sure. Hope to run with you again soon!
Lightning :)

We're going to try this new thing called jogging. Or maybe it's yogging-with a silent "j". Apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild.

You know, that a really good observation. I was really happy, having a great time. Different feeling then last marathon. I wasn't looking as happy when I was with La, she would say that I was looking grumpy. By the time I was with Doug, I was really grumpy.

Weird, eh? I seemed to be the only one. Does loss of salt cause cramping or just makes you collapse

I saw a lot of people with crystalized salt on their faces in the finish line area. Maybe the people you saw had just washed their faces??

The pictures truly tell this story...What an amazing accomplishment after the trials of the last few years...

You give me hope that I may one day be able to hit a sub-4 again...just heal up and be patient...you are living proof! :D
22 halfs (PR 1:42:02) :)
5 full (PR 3:48:21)
...and a smattering of adventure and trail races thrown in for good measure!

those finish line pics show so much effort and pride

the kind of pride that comes from the effort of smashing a PB by 15 freaking minutes

you Sir are nothing but an inspiration, anyone who ever has to take time off from running due to injury needs to talk to you
;) early and ;) often - it pays off in the long run
